Since discovering the Awesomeâ„¢ that is Project Gutenberg, FinePrint and a laser printer, I’ve been formatting quite a few titles for optimal printing.
Just as a head’s up, before printing I:
- shrink the margins to 0.5″,
- remove unnecessary text and spacing,
- indent first line of paragraphs,
- use a serif font (Times New Roman or Adobe Garamond Pro) for readability.
- (In some cases, correct egregious errors in spelling.)
Rather than letting these formatted documents sit on my hard drive collecting dust, I figure I should spread the love and save someone else the headache. Each file is in PDF format and now, without further ado…
- Villette by Charlotte Bronte (220 pgs/1.32MB)
- The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame (69 pgs/507KB)
- Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D. H. Lawrence (156 pgs/821KB)
I’ll continue to update this page as I finish formatting new works. If you have suggestions, don’t hesitate to send me an email.
