I have nothing against Twilight (I admit, I did read the entire series and see its addictive qualities), but this made me laugh a little on the inside.
According to the Vintage release, Nightlight follows a “pale and klutzy†girl named Belle Goose, who moves to Switchblade, Oregon, and meets Edwart Mullen, a “super-hot computer nerd with zero interest in girls.†The vampire-obsessed Belle becomes convinced Edwart is one of the undead after witnessing events she considers otherworldly (â€Edwart leaves his Tater Totsâ„¢ untouched at lunch! Edwart saves her from a flying snowball!â€). [EW]

This is an awsome book, it made me laugh so hard, and it was always fun to tell my friends what was happening…2 questions
1) what is up with Belle’s pet umbilibal cord and 2) why would you shoot yourself with a traquilizer gun?

This was hilarious. Edwart isn’t even a vampire! And Belle drives a U-HAUL truck! Belle finds herself just SO attractive…

Belle Goose is a superb role model for young teenage girls. I can’t help but relate to her in every way, from how she assumes every male human–from the kid who sits next to her in English to the IRS guy–has a crush on her to how she starts and stops her U-haul in the middle of the road to make sno-cones. Her relationship with Edwart will leave a lasting impression of early 21st century Oregon on the literary world for years to come, no doubt about it.
